DSAG 2009, Darmstadt: February 2009 I held another presentation about DB2 reorgs and online table moves. I held it together with Berni Schiefer. It is providing facts and tuning recommendations for high volume HADR systems with ca. 30 million SAP dialog steps per week. Interesting Material:

2006/2007 work with IBM Montpellier. The goal of this POC was to demonstrate the ability to run a SAP BW 60 TB DB2 database, providing the required stability and thoughput, achieving all the required performance and backup/recovery KPIs. As a result redbooks were published. I´m not mentioned as one of the authors, but the complete database design was provided by me. I also worked with the team to setup the systems and configure them correctly. The project contained 22 tons of hardware, today it is successfully running in global production systems, in slightly modified version. A short overview about me:  

I´m a senior SAP basis consultant for SAP R/3, release 3.1i - ECC 6.0, Netweaver 04s, including most of SAP´s Components APO, BW, CRM, WAS, XI, J2EE including middleware. Worked on single code page, MDMP and Unicode. Senior DBA & architect and troubleshooter for DB2 V6 - current on Linux, Unix and Windows and Oracle Versions 7-9 inclusive performance tuning for VLDB. Designer for VLDB SAP R/3 and SAP BW with more than 50 TB capacity. Currently responsible for many VLDBs, 4-50 TB actual used space. Many years hands on as system administration for different operating systems: AIX and HP/UX, Linux, Windows, HP MPE/iX Good Knowledge about storage systems optimization. Knowledge about configuration and usage of IBM HACMP and HP MC/Serviceguard.
